Ali & Sons Co. L.L.C., and Porsche Middle East & Africa launched the latest range of Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4.
On the eve of 19th October, dignitaries and V.I.Ps from Abu Dhabi gathered to witness the scintillating launch of the latest range of Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4.
The Carrera and Carrera 4 boast a flat-six 3.6-litre powerplant with direct fuel injection that develops 345 bhp, a total of 20 bhp more than before. Meanwhile, the Carrera S and Carrera 4S, with its 3.8-litre engine, is up by 30 bhp to 385 bhp, bringing scintillating performance beyond the 300 km/h mark.
The 911 Carrera Coupé with manual gearbox, gives figures of just 10.3 litres/100 km, while the Porsche Doppelkupplung PDK version, with its double-clutch transmission, gives even greater fuel economy of just 9.8 litres/100 km.
The new Porsche 911 range of models are the first Porsche production cars to boast the Porsche Doppelkupplung PDK transmission. Having introduced this technology on track cars over 20 years ago, the German carmaker has gained a reputation as pioneer of this outstanding feature. Seven gears shift electrohydraulically without any interruption to traction, power and pulling force.
Other features within the new 911 Carrera powertrain includes larger air filters. Also, there is now the Drive-off Assist on all new models in the range, which makes the cars more responsive to hill starts.
The Carrera 4 now features Porsche Traction Management (PTM), which is able to convert the superior power and torque into powerful acceleration and handling under all driving conditions. This technology was only previously only available on the 911 Turbo.
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system now comes as standard on Carrera S and 4S models. Meanwhile, larger brakes work very effectively with Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and now comprise the Brake Pre-filling and Brake Assist functions on all models.
Deesch Papke, Managing Director of Porsche Middle East & Africa, said: “The Carrera and the Carrera 4 offer outstanding performance with a range of cutting-edge technology. With even more power and a host of innovations, this new generation Carrera with its unmistakable silhouette stands out for its performance, economy and provides an even more thrilling driving experience.”

How to write effectively.
1. Cut the boring parts
I try to leave out the parts that people skip. ~Elmore Leonard
2. Eliminate unnecessary words
Substitute “damn” every time you’re inclined to write “very;” your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. ~Mark Twain
3. Write with passion
Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart. ~William Wordsworth
4. Paint a picture
Don’t tell me the moon is shining; show me the glint of light on broken glass. ~Anton Chekhov
5. Keep it simple
Vigorous writing is concise. ~William Strunk Jr.
6. Do it for love
Write without pay until somebody offers to pay. ~Mark Twain
7. Learn to thrive on criticism
You have to know how to accept rejection and reject acceptance. ~Ray Bradbury
8. Write all the time
Quantity produces quality. If you only write a few things, you’re doomed. ~Ray Bradbury
The way you define yourself as a writer is that you write every time you have a free minute. If you didn’t behave that way you would never do anything. ~John Irving
9. Write what you know … or what you want to know
If any man wish to write in a clear style, let him be first clear in his thoughts; and if any would write in a noble style, let him first possess a noble soul. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Learn as much by writing as by reading. ~Lord Acton
10. Be unique and unpredictable
I owe my success to having listened respectfully to the very best advice, and then going away and doing the exact opposite. ~G. K. Chesterton
Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative. ~Oscar Wilde
Zest. Gusto. How rarely one hears these words used. How rarely do we see people living, or for that matter, creating by them. Yet if I were asked to name the most important items in a writer’s make-up, the things that shape his material and rush him along the road to where he wants to go, I could only warn him to look to his zest, see to his gusto. ~Ray Bradbury
Following what works will only get you so far. Experiment with new styles, even if it means taking criticism. Without moving forward, you’ll be left behind.
